Success Stories
For the Fall/Winter 2025 season, Solaya partnered with Karl Lagerfeld to fully digitize the brand’s accessories line using a streamlined 3D capture and AI reconstruction workflow. Leveraging only a smartphone and the Solaya app, products were captured directly in Karl Lagerfeld’s Amsterdam studio, enabling a rapid, high-fidelity digitization process without the need for complex photogrammetry or specialized scanning equipment.
The captured data was processed through Solaya’s proprietary AI pipeline, producing ultra-high-fidelity 3D models of each accessory. These models were then used to create immersive 360° product videos for digital product visualization on the Karl Lagerfeld eCommerce platform, providing online shoppers with a detailed, interactive experience that mirrors in-store examination.
Notably, Solaya became the first company to generate Gaussian Splats models with sufficient visual quality to be published on the eCommerce site of a premium fashion house, setting a new standard for AI 3D modeling in luxury retail. This project demonstrated how AI-driven 3D reconstruction technology can accelerate content production while maintaining the high-quality standards required for luxury eCommerce and digital merchandising.
Mirjam Schuele, SVP Marketing at Karl Lagerfeld, praised the collaboration: “We recently started using Solaya AI and are already impressed by its potential. It’s a truly innovative (AI) solution that not only drives efficiency, but also elevates the quality of our deliverables. A promising tool for any team looking to scale smarter and take advantage of the latest AI and 3D technology.”
By combining mobile 3D capture, AI-powered reconstruction, and high-fidelity digital assets, Solaya is helping luxury brands like Karl Lagerfeld scale digital product visualization, improve online shopping experiences, and accelerate AI-driven content workflows—redefining how premium fashion products are showcased in the digital era.
